Rangers set for further changes as Philippe Clement under sack pressure
Kris Boyd believes that there will be further change at Rangers despite Patrick Stewart’s and other backroom appointments.
The Sky Sports pundit also believes that fans are right to be unhappy with Philippe Clement, given the 14-point gap with Celtic.
That lead could be 17 points should the Hoops manage to win the Old Firm derby at Ibrox on 2 January.
Boyd told Sky Sports Scotland on 1 January: “There’s a lot of Rangers fans saying: ‘It’s time up already.’ They’re asking why Philippe Clement is still in charge.
“When you see what has been going on in recent weeks there are a lot of Rangers fans unhappy and rightly so.
“14 points, a huge, huge gap at this point of the season considering they’ve played each other only once in the league.
“There’s been a lot of change at Rangers but you kind of get the feeling that there will be change coming again. Patrick Stewart just came in with other people in the hierarchy.”
Rangers must sack Philippe Clement if they lose to Celtic
Boyd’s comments reflect a growing sentiment among the Ibrox faithful that the board has allowed Clement’s tenure to extend far beyond what performances merit.
With a 14-point deficit to Celtic and potentially facing a 17-point gap if they lose the upcoming Old Firm derby, the situation is critical.
The fanbase’s frustration is palpable, questioning why the Belgian remains in charge given the team’s recent dismal performances.
Not only has Clement failed to close the gap with their rivals, but his influence on the squad hasn’t yielded positive results with very few of his signings showing improvement under his management.
With the January transfer window open, a fair case is there to be made that Clement should not be dictating new signings, as his track record doesn’t inspire confidence.

A defeat against Celtic could very well be the final straw, signalling that it’s time for a change in leadership at Ibrox to prevent further decline.
