BBC pundit amazed by what he saw in Rangers v Celtic – ‘Incredible’

Billy Dodds has hailed the exceptional performance from Rangers as they beat Celtic on Thursday at Ibrox.

The former Gers keeper was impressed with how the hosts played with and without the ball en route to a 3-0 victory on 2 January.

Ianis Hagi, Robin Propper and Danilo scored for Philippe Clement’s side in what was a relatively comfortable win.

Dodds told BBC Sportsound on 2 January at 4:51pm: “Incredible but deserved. Rangers have been relentless. They have been exceptional, on the ball and out of possession, for the full duration of this game.”

Rangers put in an unbelievable showing against Celtic

Going into the game, few would’ve thought Gers would’ve won the contest, let alone dominate and win by three goals.

Nobody expected Clement’s men to dominate right from the off but that’s precisely what they did in front of their home fans.

However, it was a game in which most players played to their potential and it was a system that brought the best out of the squad.

Even someone like Ridvan Yilmaz, playing out of position, managed to put in a stellar display, showcasing just how effective he can be as well.

The problem with this team under Clement is the consistency and they need to show the same kinda effort in the next game as well.

Hopefully, this result and performance can galvanise the team on and they can hit greater heights in the near future.
