Rangers door opens to sign striker amid Patrick Bamford update at Leeds
Rangers could be set to complete an early January transfer as Leeds United outline their plans for Patrick Bamford.
The Gers have had an up-and-down season so far with wins against Nice and Kilmarnock being high points in recent weeks.
There have been plenty of negative moments which have seen Philippe Clement come under pressure, especially while his side sit 12 points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
As a result, the January transfer window is going to be an important moment in the campaign and it could be set to kick off in ideal circumstances.
Rangers could land January signing after Patrick Bamford update at Leeds United
Bamford has struggled for regular minutes so far this campaign at Elland Road and could be on the way out of the Championship club but only if Joe Gelhardt is to depart [Football League Paper].
The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to the Light Blues in recent weeks and could be in line to complete a move to Ibrox.
Leeds would prefer to send the forward abroad rather than England, which would suit the Govan club perfectly in the winter window.
This could see the young striker come in and potentially result in the exit of another forward like Cyriel Dessers or Hamza Igamane.
The latter has been linked with a Premier League move and given his importance in recent weeks would certainly need replacing.

Gelhardt could be a useful candidate and may benefit from regular first-team football which he has rarely seen since leaving Wigan Athletic in 2020.
It will be interesting to see whether the former Sunderland loanee comes in or Bamford makes a winter move away from Leeds instead.
