Propper has played final Rangers game already, January exit surely on the cards
Patrick Stewart will just now be beginning to learn how big of a challenge he has taken on as Rangers CEO.
Supporters are once again turning on Philippe Clement after many saw a positive uplift in results recently, but those same people have had their blinkers removed and are out for blood.
The Belgian will have no worries that he has what it takes to turn things around at Ibrox, much to the frustration of the fans, but it does not seem like he will be sacked anytime soon.
Instead, with the January transfer window on the horizon, some of the players in the struggling squad could be about to beat Clement out of the exit doors. Nobody is safe right now.
One player who needs to be watching his back, even despite only arriving in Scotland during the summer on a £1.5million deal [Daily Record], Robin Propper has seriously failed to convince anyone of his talent.
Clement has clearly begun to see through the defender’s facade, now more than ever following his horrendous performance during the 2-2 draw with Motherwell on Sunday (29 December).
Robin Propper must be first January exit after Rangers horror show
Propper has been given multiple chances to prove himself after a pretty dismal introduction at Ibrox.
Now, Clement looks to prefer the likes of 36-year-old Leon Balogun and injury-prone, out-of-position Dujon Sterling, who has played nearly every position on the pitch.
With Balogun joining John Souttar in the treatment room, the manager has had no choice but to throw Propper into the lineup, but it has been nothing but a horror show.
Whether you believe a handball should have been given or not for the opening goal, the experienced 31-year-old should have made a much better clearance or just accounted for his error.
Instead, he stood protesting about the decision while Apostolos Stamatelopoulos snuck in behind and fired under Jack Butland for the opening goal of the afternoon.

One of the first rules of football, taught to youngsters all over the world, is that you should always play to the final whistle. With VAR in use, there’s even more reason to play on.
Someone of his calibre and experience should know so much better. Someone playing for Rangers should know so much better.
If not for Hamza Igamane’s heroics, he could have cost his side all three points instead of just two.
