Ianis Hagi exit: Rangers star backed to agree personal terms for Ibrox transfer
Ianis Hagi has been urged to leave Rangers and agree terms with Genoa by Romania legend Adrian Mutu.
The 26-year-old has been a regular for the Gers in recent weeks but could be on the move in January to link up with Patrick Viera in Serie A.
Rapid Bucharest owner Dan Sucu has taken over the Italian outfit and has attempted to sign the attacking midfielder before [Fanatik, 20 August].
This could prompt a winter deal away from Ibrox which has now been endorsed by former Chelsea forward and ex-Cluj manager Mutu via The National (28 December).
He said: “I believe Ianis Hagi would quickly establish himself at Genoa if he agreed on his personal terms and they could reach a transfer fee deal with Rangers.
“Ianis [Hagi] went straight to Serie A after making his debut in League 1 at Farul. Of course, he also knows Italian. He knows the country so he can adapt quickly.
“Ianis [Hagi] is a valuable player. What does he need? Confidence and continuity in development, I think that’s what Ianis needs at the moment.”
Ianis Hagi could leave Rangers for Genoa
The Romania international didn’t feature for the Light Blues for a large portion of the season after a move away wasn’t possible in the summer.
Now Philippe Clement has been able to work the ex-Genk man back into the side at Ibrox and has seen an upturn in results since.
Hagi hasn’t got on the scoresheet since returning to the starting fold in Govan but with three assists he has had a positive effect on the Gers.
It would certainly be a blow to lose the 26-year-old at this point but it may prove to be an opportunity that the midfielder can’t turn down.

The chance to link up with a fellow countryman in the new Genoa owner while also playing under Arsenal legend Viera in a top European league is an attractive prospect.
It is unclear how much Light Blues could net from the sale of the Romanian ace but his departure could fund further deals in the January transfer window.
In other Rangers news, Hearts have readied a deal to sign a forward who was linked with an Ibrox switch.
