Michael Stewart in hysterics after what was said about his Rangers reveal

Michael Stewart was left in hysterics after what was said about his Rangers reveal when discussing the Scottish League Cup Final.

The Gers faced their arch-rivals Celtic on 15 December, taking the game all the way to penalties where they eventually lost 5-4.

After the game, there was plenty of attention on striker Cyriel Dessers who didn’t take a penalty, with Stewart revealing that he wanted to.

When discussing his information, Stewart said on the Premier Sports Scottish Football Social Club [23 December, 34:00]: “Oh yeah. I had on good authority all week he was up for it but it was the manager’s decision on the five penalty takers.”

Darrell Currie quickly responded as he quipped: “So when did Alan text and tell you that?” which left his counterparts in stitches of laughter.

Cyriel Dessers set for Rangers exit?

In what has been a poor season for Rangers already, Dessers has recently found himself falling out of favour and down the pecking order after Hamza Igamane started to find his form at Ibrox.

With the January transfer window fast approaching, the striker has been linked with a move away from the club next month and the penalty saga in the League Cup final probably emphasises the likelihood of this move happening.

Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers

If the decision was made by Philippe Clement rather than the 30-year-old himself to not take a penalty, you have to feel somewhat bad for the striker, who has received criticism for what happened.

Saying that, it seems as though his race with the Scottish Premiership side might be run and if there is a rift between him and his boss then it will no doubt benefit all parties if an exit is sanctioned in the transfer window.
