Ianis Hagi stuns pundit live on BBC with first-half moment in Rangers v Dundee

Derek Ferguson was left amazed by Ianis Hagi after what he did in the first half between Rangers and Dundee.

Jack Butland was forced to withdraw from the game as the Light Blues welcomed the Dark Blues to Ibrox on Saturday [21 December] in the Scottish Premiership with the score of 0-0 after 45 minutes.

Hagi has started for the Gers at Ibrox, and in the 20th minute of the game, the Romanian’s effort came close to finding the back of the net as he hit the crossbar.

Speaking on BBC Radio Scotland [21 December, 15:23], Ferguson said: “They’ve got a corner kick. They don’t elect to put the ball into the box. A short corner kick and Hagi way over on that left side just takes it on his right foot.

“I tell you what, it’s a wonderful hit and it just clips the top of the bar.”

Rangers need win over Dundee in Scottish Premiership

Philippe Clement’s team had been in a good run of form prior to losing to Celtic in last weekend’s Scottish League Cup final.

The Bears have taken massive steps in recent weeks after a poor start to the season and need to keep their momentum to have a strong end to the campaign.

While the Hoops are 11 points ahead of the Light Blues in the league table, and catching up to them seems impossible, Clement still needs to ensure they remain competitive.

Rangers have other competitions they can still attain silverware in, with the Bears sitting in a good position to make it to the knockout stages of the Europa League.

The Light Blues were unfortunate to lose to Celtic at Hampden Park after being denied a penalty in extra time.

Clement will have another opportunity to break his duck in the Old Firm Derby on 2 January, and the Belgian needs his team to be in the best mental state going into that fixture.

Dundee have scored decent goals in the current campaign but have also conceded many, and the Bears need to create more chances and seal a victory at Ibrox after the break.
