Ianis Hagi exit on cards at Rangers as Genoa transfer news emerges
Ianis Hagi is on Genoa’s wishlist ahead of the January transfer window amid his resurgence at Rangers, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper reported via their website on Friday (20 December) that the Serie A club could make the 26-year-old, who has also been linked with Borussia Monchengladbach, their first signing under the new ownership of Romanian businessman Dan Sucu.
Hagi’s ability to play in an advanced midfield role and the wings makes him the right fit for Geona, who have struggled for options in those positions.
Could Rangers Philippe Clement sanction Ianis Hagi exit at Ibrox?
The past few seasons have certainly been interesting for Hagi, who was exiled from the squad at the start of the season due to a contract dispute.
He did not make his first appearance for the Gers until their 2-0 victory over St. Johnstone on 6 October.
The Romania international has grown in stature in recent weeks, playing the full 120 minutes in the Scottish League Cup final defeat to Celtic last Sunday (15 December). He was among those who stepped up to take a penalty for Clement’s side in the shootout.
It, therefore, remains to be seen if Clement is willing to let the attacker leave midway through the season.

Apart from Genoa, Borussia Monchengladbach have also been linked with a move for Hagi ahead of the January transfer window [Daily Record].
Adrian Ilie, a close family friend of Hagi’s, has claimed that the Light Blues are holding out for a sum of £1.6million for the player’s transfer.
In other Rangers news, a transfer model shift is on the cards at Ibrox with Hamza Igamane mooted to leave.
