Celtic fans told to admit they are wrong after Rangers controversy

Celtic fans should admit they were wrong about the Rangers penalty saga after Willie Collum and the SFA admitted error, Tom English says.

The head of referee operations at the SFA has acknowledged that VAR were wrong not to award the Gers a penalty after Liam Scales’ foul on Vaclav Cerny in the Premier Sports Cup final.

Now, the Hoops faithful have been told to form an “orderly queue” to apologise after the Light Blues’ loss at Hampden Park on Sunday [15 December].

On his personal X account [19 December], English wrote: “Celtic fans on here, can you form an orderly queue to admit you were wrong on the penalty? Many thanks.”

Rangers vindicated by Scottish FA admission on Celtic penalty

While the result won’t change for the Bears, the SFA’s admission has vindicated what the Ibrox faithful have been saying since the final.

Most fans and pundits alike realise VAR made an error during extra time when the game was level, but there have been some who’ve suggested otherwise.

Ultimately, the Gers’ poor record against their Old Firm rivals has extended to six games without a victory.

Philippe Clement has been unable to find a solution at Rangers to beat Celtic, and the Belgian surely must get the better of Brendan Rodgers on 2 January in the Scottish Premiership.

Failure to win another game against the Hoops at Ibrox will only result in questions once again being raised about the 50-year-old head coach’s future at the Glaswegian outfit.

With the verdict around the penalty incident now settled, the Light Blues should focus on the remainder of the season and end it on a high note with a potential trophy.
