McManus hypocrisy exosed after latest Rangers mocking on social media

Tam McManus is a hypocrite for his criticism of Rangers defender Leon Balogun.

The Nigerian compared teammate Hamza Igamane to Didier Drogba in an interview with PLZ Soccer before the Premier Sports Cup final against Celtic at Hampden Park on Sunday (15 December).

Former Hibernian striker McManus had ridiculed that comparison in a post on X but that is hypocritical, especially given his comments on Hibs defence in 2017.

The 43-year-old compared his former club’s back-line to Arsenal in the 1990’s when they had the likes of Tony Adams, Steve Bould, Lee Dixon and Nigel Winterburn [Ladbrokes, 6 April 2017].

McManus Rangers criticism is ridiculous

McManus’ criticism of the Gers defender is ridiculous as it is obvious that he did not mean that Igamane is the same quality as Drogba.

The Ivorian was a Premier League legend, a four-time title winner, and a Champions League winner.

The Moroccan has a long way to go to even get anywhere near that and would need to leave Ibrox if he was to ever try to match Drogba.

Balogun likely meant their physical attributes, which is not a ludicrous comparison at all.

For starters, like Drogba, Igamane is a handful for defenders, very pacey, can play with his back to goal and can finish well as shown by the fact he has five goals in his last five appearances.

If Igamane continues in this vein of form, he may well earn a move to the Premier League in the near future.
