McManus baffled by what Leon Balogun said about Rangers teammate
Tam McManus was baffled by an outrageous claim that Rangers star Leon Balogun made about Hamza Igamane.
The Moroccan forward has scored five goals in his last five appearances and his teammate compared him to a Premier League legend in an interview before the Premier Sports Cup final clash with Celtic.
Speaking about the 22-year-old before the contest, the Nigerian defender told PLZ Soccer that he reminded him of Premier League legend Didier Drogba.
However, former Hibernian forward McManus took to X to respond to the claim, saying: “Whit” with a laughing face emoji in a Scottish twist on the word what.
Rangers ‘Drogba’ can fire them to victory over Celtic
The comparison to one of the greatest strikers the British game has ever seen is an utterly ridiculous one.
The only similarity between Drogba and Igamane is that they both come from the same continent.
However, Igamane has been in inspired form for the Gers in recent weeks and has played a key role in Philippe Clement’s mini-revival.

Clement will hope that Igamane’s recent upturn in form can help his side secure the Belgian’s maiden victory over arch-rivals Celtic in Sunday’s final in his sixth attempt. (15 December).
The Moroccan ace proved he can perform against higher-quality opposition in the 1-1 Europa League draw with Tottenham on Thursday (12 December).
He will be hoping that he can do it again on Sunday and give the club and Clement a major boost after a tough season so far.
In other Rangers news, a report has claimed that Clement could guarantee that he keeps his job for the rest of the season with a win over Celtic.
