Hamza Igamane update emerges ahead of Rangers v Celtic
Philippe Clement has not confirmed that Hamza Igamane will surely be available for Rangers when they play Celtic on Sunday.
The Belgian will be looking to win his second piece of silverware at the Ibrox outfit when his side takes on the Hoops at Hampden Park in the Scottish League Cup final on 15 December.
In the pre-match press conference, Clement confirmed that he’s unsure about John Souttar’s availability but it’s understood the Moroccan attacker may also miss the game.
When asked about his availability, the Belgian said, as quoted by STV: “I wish I could give you an update, but for now I can’t say definitive things with regards to this weekend.”
Rangers can turn to Ianis Hagi and Danilo to provide the goal threat
Igamane’s potential absence in the upcoming final against Celtic could be a significant blow for Gers given his recent form.
Over the past few games, the 22-year-old has shown considerable impact by scoring five goals in his last five appearances and bringing a dynamic presence to the attack, which has been pivotal in the club’s recent performances.
His absence would leave a void in the forward line, especially considering his ability to score and create under pressure.
However, Clement has options to mitigate this loss with the return of Ianis Hagi and Danilo, who were not registered for the Europa League match against Tottenham and thus did not play.
Both players bring their unique strengths – Hagi with his creativity and flair on the ball – and Danilo with his goal-scoring instinct and capacity to lead the line.

There’s a compelling case for both to start, as Hagi’s playmaking could unlock Celtic’s defence, while Danilo’s clinical edge suggests he could be the key to breaking down the opposition, providing Clement with tactical flexibility despite Igamane’s possible absence.
