Rangers team news v Celtic – Three players mooted to be ruled out

John Souttar could miss the Scottish League Cup final clash between Rangers and Celtic on Sunday, confirms Philippe Clement

The Ibrox outfit take on their arch rivals at Hampden Park on 15 December and will be looking to win silverware this season.

Souttar is a doubt for the game after picking up an injury against Tottenham on 12 December while Tom Lawrence and Neraysho Kasanwirjo remain out.

Clement said: “We are waiting on the assessment from the doctor. I know John (Souttar) would give everything to be able to play. Everyone in the squad has performed when coming into the squad in the past few weeks.”

Rangers have to go into this one all guns blazing

A cup final against their arch rivals Celtic is certainly enough to give goosebumps to anyone associated with the club.

Given how the season is going, a win against the Hoops could be exactly what’s needed to kick-start the season.

It would bring in some much-needed silverware and give Clement some more time to prove why he deserves to be the manager.

Not having Souttar is a big miss and the club will be hopeful that he can go through the protocols before being cleared for the game.

If he’s not there, it will be Robin Propper who has struggled this season and will be exploited by the Celtic attackers.

Gers go into this game as underdogs but they were the same against Spurs and managed to put up such a spirited performance so the fans will be demanding a repeat of that one.

In other Rangers news, the club have been savaged for the “shambolic” manner they have handled the qualms of a first-team player at Ibrox.
