Rangers certainty shared amid Nathan Patterson to Ibrox latest
Rangers are certain to recruit a new right-back in the January transfer window with Nathan Patterson on the radar, the Daily Mail reports.
According to the news outlet’s website [12 December], the Gers will prioritise a new right-back, with Neraysho Kasanwirjo expected to miss the rest of the season due to injury.
However, the door remains open for Patterson to complete a sensational loan return to Ibrox despite claims that Everton will not entertain offers north of the border.
The 23-year-old has informed the Merseyside outfit of his desire for regular game time as he aims to make the Scotland squad for the World Cup qualifiers in 2025.
Nathan Patterson could still revive his career at Rangers
Patterson’s move to the Premier League has not panned out as expected for the Gers academy graduate, and a return to Ibrox could be the best fit for all parties.
Regardless of which Championship sides are interested, every Everton fan would agree that the right-back playing regular Scottish Premiership and Europa League football would be more beneficial than plying his trade in the English second tier.
Furthermore, James Tavernier is heading towards an inevitable exit from Rangers and with only Dujon Sterling to contend with, Patterson would undoubtedly get his fair share of minutes in Glasgow.

The Gers would have to pull the plug on sanctioning the Gers captain’s departure without an adequate replacement in the pipeline, so the fresh hope that Everton would consider sending Patterson to Ibrox is a welcome boost for Philippe Clement indeed.
Patterson, of course, knows the Light Blues inside and out and considering the abysmal landscape of their SPFL aspirations, the supporters would welcome a familiar face to help lift the mood ahead of what promises to be a worthwhile Europa League campaign.
Rangers need reinforcements, and Patterson needs minutes – it is a win-win situation for all involved.
