Philippe Clement called out after Rangers excuses live on BBC today
Derek Ferguson called out Philippe Clement ahead of Rangers showdown against Ross County in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
The Bears powered their way to a 3-0 win at the Global Energy Stadium on 8 December, but the Belgian was noting the size of the pitch among other things before kick-off.
Ferguson was not best pleased, saying that Clement needs to show more positivity in the media as he questioned what he tells his squad before games.
Speaking live on BBC Sportsound [8 December, 11:54], Ferguson said: “Just one or two things concerning the manager.
“It just irks me a little bit, he’s looking for one or two excuses already.
“I think a little bit more positivity when he is talking to the press because I sometimes wonder what he is saying in the dressing room.”
Philippe Clement excuses at Rangers?
There are a lot of mixed messages in and out of Ibrox at the minute, but finally, the results are positive and dominating performances are back.
Hamza Igamane has been a revelation recently and opened the scoring at Dingwall, with Danilo and James Tavernier also finding the back of the net again.
After the 6-0 win over Kilmarnock, Clement didn’t get ahead of himself, but he also didn’t seem too confident arriving at Ross County, where he lost the time before this.

Clement has already come out after the game to say that Celtic and Tottenham are ahead of the club financially as they prepare for those two massive games [Sky Sports].
While also admitting that his side is ready to compete, that is not what fans want to be hearing ahead of the biggest week of the season with silverware also on the line.
It just sounds like another excuse and maybe Ferguson is right that the Belgian needs to back himself and his squad much deeper ahead of these occasions.
In other Rangers news, Clement has pulled the wool over the eyes of fans at the AGM with what he said.
