Rangers development ‘Criminal’ after what’s happened this season
Scott Mcdermott and Keith Jackson have hit out at the attacking stats of Rangers this season, calling them “criminal”.
The Gers have scored 15 goals at home this season, but away from Ibrox, they’ve managed to find the back of the net just three times.
Speaking on Hotline Live [3 December], the Daily Record duo discussed the predicament, with McDermott saying: “The stats in terms of Rangers’ goal return this season is alarming.”
Jackson responded: “It’s criminal.”
The Bears had to rely on an own goal at McDiarmid Park on 1 December as they came away with the three points after a 1-0 victory over St Johnstone.
Philippe Clement needs to fix Rangers attacking issue
Cyriel Dessers had been relied upon by Philippe Clement for most of the season, but the Belgian has opted to change things in recent fixtures.
The Nigerian striker has scored 10 goals in 22 appearances for the Light Blues in the current campaign, but his profligacy and inconsistency up front haven’t been encouraging.
Hamza Igamane came into the starting lineup for the OGC Nice clash, and the Moroccan was brilliant as a number nine in the 4-1 victory, scoring a brace.
The 22-year-old also started for Rangers against St Johnstone but wasn’t able to do much as the team looked out of ideas.

Igamane is still young and has a long way to go before being placed on the mantle as the starting centre-forward for the Glaswegian outfit.
Danilo is another number nine Clement has at his disposal, but the Brazilian’s injury issues have been frustrating.
The former AS Monaco head coach has tried different options by including Ianis Hagi in the lineup as of late, and the Romanian has provided the spark in the attacking third.
Clement is under massive pressure at Ibrox and could face the sack if he doesn’t find the solution for the goalscoring issues before the Scottish League Cup final against Celtic.
In other Rangers news, Jackson has said John Gilligan deserves a standing ovation at the Glaswegian outfit.
