Kris Boyd slams Igamane for what he did for Rangers v St Johnstone, ‘No chance’
Kris Boyd slammed Hamza Igamane for poor positioning that gave him “no chance” of scoring for Rangers in their 1-0 win at St Johnstone on Sunday.
The 22-year-old was handed a start by Philippe Clement at McDiarmid Park after scoring two in midweek against Nice but failed to make his opportunity count.
The Moroccan didn’t manage to get on the scoresheet and Boyd picked out the reason why live on Sky Sports Football at half time (1 December).
He said: “I look at Igamane, he’s already past the front post by the time the ball is at the byline. You’ve got to get yourself in the middle, he’s got no chance of scoring from there. No chance.
“I know people will say it gives others an opportunity but there’s no one else in the box.”
Hamza Igamane slammed in Rangers showing v St Johnstone
The youngster appeared to finally have found his feet for the Light Blues in a top performance in the Europa League against Nice.
There was so much to appreciate about his showing in France that he had to start for the Gers in their return to Scottish Premiership action.
During the clash against the Saints, Igamane was afforded less time and space by their back line which meant it was a difficult day for the forward.
Danilo came on in the second half and the pair dovetailed better and the starting striker did seem to receive a boost.
There is an issue for Philippe Clement over which striker he starts with given the form and availability of his three choices.

With Kilmarnock travelling to Ibrox on Wednesday (4 November), it will be interesting to see who the Belgian opts to start.
Igamane hasn’t necessarily done himself any favours but after Cyriel Dessers’ miss against Nice, there isn’t necessarily much competition.
In other Rangers news, a journalist has torn into one defender as he thinks Clement should sell him.
