Ally McCoist heartbroken live on air amid new Rangers and Celtic admission

Ally McCoist has found it difficult to admit that Rangers have no chance of beating Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title.

Philippe Clement’s side are now 11 points adrift from their Old Firm rivals at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, falling further behind after a 1-1 draw with Dundee United on Saturday 23 November.

Sam Dalby actually gave the visitors the lead at Ibrox, with Vaclav Cerny sparing the Gers’ blushes in the 66th minute, but it was not enough to keep up the chase on Brendan Rodgers’ team.

Speaking live via talkSPORT on Monday (25 November, 7:50am), McCoist said: “They [Rangers] won’t be catching Celtic this season, and you know, it breaks my heart to say this.”

Rangers losing all hope of Scottish Premiership title charge

The Light Blues should always be expected to challenge the Hoops to the Scottish Premiership title, but it looks as though Aberdeen are far likelier to battle them for the top spot this season.

Clement’s side are eight points behind the Dons, but with Jimmy Thelin’s side taking on Hibernian on Monday 25 November, the Gers could end the day 11 points behind both teams.

While the Gers do have Europa League football to channel their focus on, it already looks to be a hugely disappointing campaign under the Belgian and pressure is beginning to grow.

It remains to be seen if the current manager will be sacked anytime soon, mainly due to a lack of leaders in the Ibrox boardroom, but that could be about to change very soon.

The hiring of a new CEO and club chairman could really help to stabilise some of the current chaos at Ibrox, and the majority of fans will be hoping that one of the first decisions will be to sack Clement.
