Ianis Hagi told to quit Rangers with Philippe Clement admission made

Gheorghe Hagi has urged his son and Rangers attacker Ianis Hagi to find a manager who loves him amid his lack of game time.

The 26-year-old Romania international has only played 50 league minutes this season under Philippe Clement.

Hagi was linked with a summer exit, but ended up staying put at Ibrox.

As quoted by the Daily Record, Gheorghe, the owner and manager of Farul Constanta, said: “It’s important Ianis finds a manager who loves him and gives him the opportunity to play regularly. Ianis loves this job and I hope he plays as much as possible for his club team. I believe he is a very valuable player who has demonstrated that both in Romania and abroad.

“All of us who have played football have gone through hard times, the important thing is to face it up. And he showed in his last match for Romania just how important a player he could be.

“Every single time he gets the opportunity, he delivers. But to prove that you are good, you have to play. He is aware of this.”

Ianis Hagi may look to quit Rangers in January

Hagi’s limited playing time at Rangers is particularly baffling given the team’s struggles this season.

Despite his proven track record and the club’s need for creative and impactful players, the 26-year-old has been sidelined.

His father rightly points out his son’s value, evidenced by his performances both domestically and internationally.

Hagi’s ability to influence games was recently showcased in a match for Romania, indicating his readiness to contribute significantly at the club level.

His knack for stepping up when given a chance suggests that Gers are potentially overlooking a key asset.

If the situation doesn’t change, the January transfer window could provide the 26-year-old with an opportunity to move to a club where he might receive the appreciation and playing time he deserves.

In other Rangers news, two more players are not in the club’s long-term plans as an exit development has emerged from Ibrox.
