Rangers Lennon Miller transfer prediction shared as Celtic claim made

Mark Guidi believes Rangers will struggle to compete in the race for the transfer of Motherwell youngster Lennon Miller.

The Steelmen are set to demand £4million for the 18-year-old if the Light Blues or Celtic come knocking in January [Daily Mail, 13 November].

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show Podcast [14 November], Guidi doesn’t see the Bears challenging for the midfielder’s signing and expects him to move to their Old Firm rivals.

“I think Rangers will struggle to be a part of it based on the finances and based on what the former chairman said three months ago. They can’t compete at that kind of level at this moment in time,” he said.

“So it wouldn’t surprise me to see him at Celtic. To see a deal happening in January. Motherwell will be in a great position, and so will the boy. I can see him having five or six excellent options.”

Rangers instability affecting team

Rangers are currently unstable, with the club without a permanent chairman and CEO after the departures of John Bennett and James Bisgrove in recent months.

The lack of leadership seems to have affected the Light Blues’ performances, with Philippe Clement struggling to bring the best out of the players at his disposal.

Going into the November international break, the Bears sit third in the Scottish Premiership table, nine points behind leaders Celtic and Aberdeen.

Considering how well the Belgian manager did last season after a tough start under Michael Beale, the situation off the pitch has undoubtedly affected the club on it.

Miller is one of the most significant prospects in Scottish football, and after breaking into Motherwell’s first team in the previous campaign, the 18-year-old has made 17 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

The midfielder arguably has the potential to make it to the top, and it would be a shame if the hierarchy at Ibrox didn’t push to get a deal over the line for him in January.
