Rangers to sack Philipe Clement despite £2million news – Sky Sports journalist
Dan Bardell believes Rangers could sack Philippe Clement regardless of the potential £2million compensation fee involved.
The Belgian has come under fire at Ibrox in recent weeks with many supporters wanting him sacked despite reaching the League Cup final on Sunday (3 November).
The Gers’ hierarchy may be hesitant to pull the trigger as the manager could be in line to receive £2m if he is moved on [David Edgar].
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes finances won’t be a problem if the Light Blues board decide to sack Clement in the near future.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Bardell said: “They probably can’t afford to sack him but there will also become a point where fans become frustrated and they can’t really afford to keep him either.
“Money worries go out the window when management changes come in for whatever reason, clubs always seem able to make that move regardless of financial situations.
“Definitely, something has to change at Rangers, it doesn’t feel like a happy place at all right now.“
Rangers £2m compensation mooted for Philippe Clement sack
The defeat at Pittodrie against Aberdeen was the final straw for many supporters but it appears that John Gilligan and Co. are reluctant to make the decision.
Given the financial requirements to move on the Belgian, it may not prove to be a straightforward decision like many fans may think it is.

There have been links to the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard but before someone new can come in, the 50-year-old has to be on the chopping block after a poor season so far.
In other Rangers news, The Ibrox board should expect backlash from fans after the new kit developments.
