Neil McCann makes huge Rangers prediction after what he saw on BBC
Neil McCann insists that the Europa League clash at Olympiacos will be “Huge” for Rangers and Philippe Clement.
The Light Blues came from behind to beat Motherwell 2-1 and progress into the Scottish League Cup final at Hampden on Sunday (3 November), with a trip to Athens next up on 7 November.
McCann admitted that it is just about getting through in cup competitions, with the final against Celtic days after a showdown with Tottenham.
“What I’d say is cup football is all about getting through, they are in a cup final now. [Marvin Bartley] is right, the next game is huge, Olympiacos, Europa League”, he said on BBC Scotland Sportscene (3 November).
“But then, this cup final they’ve got themselves into they’re facing a Celtic side that is just absolutely scintilating.
“They showed Aberdeen that this is the level that you have to get to if you want to come and challenge.
“The problem now they’ve got before that cup final is they play Spurs, I think, three days beforehand, so it won’t be easy.
“So, listen, it’s about getting through in cup semi-finals, it doesn’t have to be pretty, just get there.”
Could Neil McCann be proven right with Rangers prediction?
Having lost 2-1 to Aberdeen on Wednesday (30 November), Rangers needed to return to winning ways against Motherwell at the weekend. Although the performance was unconvincing for large parts, Clement would be delighted to have come away with a victory.
The Belgian tactician’s future in Govan has seemingly been in the balance for a while and he must string together a run of good results now, starting with the trip to Greece on Thursday.
Rangers have a comparatively easier set of Premiership games against Hearts, Dundee United and St. Johnstone coming up and they need to make the most of it.

Nevertheless, it will take a huge effort from Clement to get a good chunk of the Gers fanbase back on his side as the team have already fallen nine points behind Celtic and Aberdeen in the title race.
Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes, meanwhile, continues to be touted as a replacement for Clement at Ibrox, although it appears unlikely at this stage.
In other Rangers news, the Light Blues have been urged to get rid of this player after what he did against Motherwell.
