David Edgar has been left stunned after what Philippe Clement said in the aftermath of Aberdeen’s 2-1 win over Rangers on 30 October.
The Belgian said that it was one of his side’s best performances of the season as they ended the day nine points behind the league leaders.
Gers managed to equalise through Nedim Bajrami’s second-half goal, but Shayden Morris’ strike secured the three points for the hosts at Pittodrie.
Edgar took to X to say: “Tell me you’re joking. Or misheard. Because that is wild. Delusional.”
On finally seeing the footage, he said: “Wow.”

Clement’s assertion that the performance against Aberdeen was among their best this season, despite a 2-1 defeat that left them nine points adrift of the league leaders, suggests a disconnect with reality or perhaps a desperate attempt to find positives in an increasingly untenable situation.
