Jeff Stelling in stitches at Rangers jibe after what Ally McCoist said about Manchester United
Jeff Stelling and Ally McCoist could only laugh after a fan suggested that Rangers could go another 30 years without a Scottish Premiership title.
This came after McCoist predicted a long trophy drought for Manchester United after sacking Erik ten Hag on Monday 28 October, a claim that only seems to have backfired on the Gers legend.
The Light Blues have won just one of the last 10 league titles, with Old Firm rivals Celtic dominating the division, and Philippe Clement does not look to be changing that trend anytime soon.
Speaking live via talkSPORT on Tuesday (29 October, 8:31am), Stelling said: “Ally McCoist saying it could be 30 years before Manchester United win the title. Text just in, ‘It could be 30 years before Rangers win the title.'”
Both laughing, Stelling simply replied: “Touche.”
Rangers to win the Scottish Premiership before Manchester United win the Premier League?
The Gers certainly have a much better chance of lifting their league trophy than Man United, given that only a handful of teams can compete at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Aberdeen are the closest team to the Gers and the Hoops, especially holding onto second position so far this season, but the Dons have not won the title since the 1984/85 season.
The Light Blues have shown signs of positivity under the new manager, having lifted the Scottish League Cup within his first few months at Ibrox, but fans are becoming more frustrated by the drastic drop in form.

Their title hopes will truly be tested this week as Clement’s side prepare to face the Dons at the Pittodrie Stadium on Wednesday 30 October, a fixture which could open up the title race.
The Gers are just six points behind Celtic and Aberdeen, but if they are to suffer defeat, Clement could already be at risk of being sacked.
