Philippe Clement furious with Jefte after what Rangers ace did in win v FCSB
Philippe Clement was “furious” with Jefte after the left-back was dispossessed during Rangers’ 4-0 win against FCSB on Thursday (24 October).
After the Gers won back possession in their own half, Jefte took the ball and ran up the field but lost the ball almost instantly as he failed to give the ball to a teammate.
While it was a comfortable victory for Philippe Clement’s men, the manager was still aiming for perfection and was clearly unhappy with the lack of focus in possession after escaping danger.
Speaking live via TNT Sports [24 October], commentator Rory Hamilton: “Jefte waited too long and was robbed by Stefanescu. Philippe Clement was furious at the hesitation from his Brazilian left-back.”
McCoist added: “Lawrence should be screaming at him, screaming at him that there’s a man coming behind him. It’s the full-back’s fault though.”
Jefte fury just a little hitch in Rangers win v FCSB
Clement will be delighted with the performance after such a disappointing display in the 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock on Sunday 20 October.
Apart from Jack Butland almost giving away the opener in the early minutes of the match, the Gers looked well on top for the entire game and made FCSB pay for their sloppiness in defence.
Of course, there will be lots of concern over possible injuries to Tom Lawrence and Cyriel Dessers, who have both been key figures for the Light Blues but were forced off against the Romanian side.

With Cerny in his best form since arriving at Ibrox, Dessers is not under so much pressure to hit the back of the net, but it will be a big blow if the striker’s substitution is serious.
The striker position is probably where Clement lacks the most depth, with Hamza Igamane yet to stamp his mark on the squad and Zak Lovelace only just being given a chance in the first team.
