Kris Boyd shares what Rangers must change immediately on Sky Sports

Rangers need to improve their attacking play immediately after the 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership, Kris Boyd has said.

Philippe Clement’s men travelled to Rugby Park on 20 October, leaving with nothing after a late Marley Watkins goal.

Rangers have now failed to score in three of their four away games in the league, and speaking on Sky Sports [23 October], Boyd wants to see that change quickly.

“I think they need to start creating more opportunities,” he said.

“When you look at their away form, it’s not been great. One goal scored, that’s an area Rangers have to improve in.

“It’s slow, the build up, everything just seems to be pedestrian, and it needs to be a lot sharper.”

Rangers need to change immediately at Ibrox

Rangers have had a poor start to the season, sitting six points off the top in the Scottish Premiership.

The Bears have already lost two fixtures in the league, and Clement needs to find a formula to turn things around, even if the Belgian is seemingly not under threat of losing his job [Rangers Review].

Cyriel Dessers has been the main striker for over a year now, but the Nigeria international hasn’t been able to convince many fans and his sluggish display in the loss to Kilmarnock wasn’t encouraging.

However, for all the negatives about the 29-year-old, he’s still the top goalscorer at the club this season, with seven goals in all competitions, which showcases the plight of the forward line.

The likes of Vaclav Cerny, Ross McCausland and Rabbi Matondo have been unable to consistently find the back of the net, something that needs to change.

Cerny summed it up perfectly against Lyon in the Europa League, missing a glorious opportunity with the goal gaping at his mercy.

The Belgian must find the right formula in the coming weeks, or the position on his role at the top of the club may change very quickly at Ibrox.

In other news, David Martindale has made a new worrying Ibrox assessment after what happened recently.
