Rangers told change is needed at Ibrox after John Gilligan AGM admission
Craig Moore has suggested change is needed at Ibrox, despite John Gilligan’s dismissal of a potential Rangers AGM.
The Light Blues interim chairman held a press conference on Monday (23 September) where he admitted the members of the current Gers board aren’t interested in calling an AGM as they don’t want to change.
Although Go Radio pundit Moore insists new investment is what is needed the most at Ibrox, the former Gers favourite thinks that there needs to be a change at the top of the football club.
Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show (23 September, 6:20) he said: “John Gilligan says an AGM only comes about when people want change.
“That for me, is exactly what Rangers need. As the largest shareholder, when you can’t actually find a way to get to the table and have any kind of discussion must be really, really frustrating.
“There needs to be massive investment. But at the same time, investors are looking for a return.
“When you look at Rangers in recent seasons and the current board, obviously their intentions are in the right place, but their decisions over the last three seasons, there’s been more poor decisions than positive decisions.”
Will Rangers hold an AGM at Ibrox after Dave King comments?
As Moore suggests, the current Gers board’s heart is in the right place, but over the last few years, they have made poor decision after poor decision that has repeatedly come back to bite the football club off and on the pitch.
The insistence from Gilligan that those at the top of the football club are not at all interested in changing their ways should come as a slight worry to fans, as it is clear that the current methods simply aren’t working.

That isn’t to suggest that Dave King is the answer to all of the Light Blues problems. However, the former chairman’s call for an AGM does seem to be a sensible one as it would help there be a real shift in how the club is run.
At this moment in time, it seems as though Gilligan and the rest of the board members around him on the blue half of Glasgow aren’t ready to listen. Hopefully, this isn’t yet another decision that comes back to bite them.
