RSA expresses ‘extreme lack of confidence’ in Rangers board

The Rangers Supporters’ Association (RSA) have laid bare their “extreme lack of confidence” in the club’s board during a recent meeting.

The minutes of the meeting were published by the RSA on X [18 September], as earlier this month, senior management and board members at Ibrox met with representatives of the RSA who expressed their discontent.

A long list of concerns was voiced, including the remaining lack of a CEO; the Gers’ uncertain financial position, and the negative impact events at Ibrox have had on the coveted reputation of the club.

The social media post on Wednesday night illustrated the topics raised, and claimed: “On behalf of the RSA members, we expressed our extreme lack of confidence in the club board at present.”

A fresh meeting is intended from the RSA within the next 10 days, at which they hope interim chairman John Gilligan will be in attendance.

Rangers supporters want immediate action

There’s no escaping the fact Rangers have been treated like a circus – far below the level of the institution they proudly stand.

Supporters are attempting to force change – many simply want better communication from the club and transparency to prevent the idea of being treated as an afterthought, or worse an inconvenience.

John Bennett’s medically-enforced resignation as chairman was confirmed via Companies House this week, and Gilligan simply must build a bridge with the fanbase at Ibrox to ensure some trust is earned.

The club can ill afford the hunt for their new leadership figure to be the wrong candidate for a role with such magnitude, with many believing the Light Blues should not revisit the past by reinstalling the interested Dave King at the helm.

A CEO to replace James Bisgrove must be a matter of urgent priority, and Philippe Clement – or whoever the manager is at the turn of the year – must be fully backed in January.
