Simon Jordan shares Rangers boardroom talks after Dave King developments

Simon Jordan was not “overly impressed” by discussions with members of the Rangers boardroom after Dave King’s scathing review at Ibrox.

The former Gers chairman shared his concerns over the ongoing “crisis”, making himself available to take over the role after John Bennett stepped down due to health-related reasons [talkSPORT].

King has since slammed the boardroom for their “astonishing” failure surrounding the redevelopment setbacks at Ibrox, which forced Philippe Clement’s side to play their recent home games at Hampden Park [Rangers Review].

Speaking live via talkSPORT on Tuesday (17 September, 11:42am), Jordan said: “I wasn’t overly impressed with the discussions I had with various members of the Rangers board about certain things.

“I didn’t think it was particularly grown-up and some of the things they do aren’t reflective of a club of that standard. He’s probably right, Dave. But he has taken a flamethrower to them so how he is going to get some of them on board, I don’t know.”

It just seems to be one problem after another at Ibrox this season, from being kicked out of their home stadium to being knocked out of the Champions League.

Bennett’s departure was a shock for all in Glasgow, and while he received mixed reviews from the passionate fanbase, he is a lifelong supporter of the club just like everyone else.

The former chairman has clearly suffered from the role, needing to step away from Ibrox for personal reasons, and King has wasted no time throwing his hat into the ring.

However, it remains to be seen who will be the person to replace Bennett, with King’s hopes of a “dramatic” return to Ibrox dashed after a final decision from the hierarchy [Chris Jack].

Something needs to change at Ibrox fairly quickly, with the ongoing circus just making things harder, not only for the club but the fans too – they deserve more.

This is something to watch, with John Gilligan already looking into replacements.
