Rangers could see upcoming match moved away from Ibrox amid St Johnstone update
Rangers home clash with St Johnstone at Ibrox could be moved to McDiarmid Park, according to The Courier.
The outlet reported on its website on Wednesday (4 September) that the Gers’ Europa League match with Lyon on Thursday 3 October means the Premiership tie with Craig Levein’s side cannot be played on Saturday 5 October.
Typically the match would be moved to Sunday 6 October, but because of the Great Scottish Run, it will not be able to be played at either 3pm or 5pm, with an evening start the only alternative on that day.
If the two sides decide against kicking off late on Sunday evening, they could instead flip their home and away fixture for the season meaning the first clash between the clubs will take place at McDiarmid Park rather than Ibrox.

Just when Rangers supporters would have hoped that the Ibrox stadium drama was finally coming to an end in Glasgow, yet another issue has cropped up to throw another home fixture into doubt this season.
Admittedly, this one could not be more out of the Light Blues’ control as the reshuffle has absolutely nothing to do with Philippe Clement’s side, barring the fact that they failed to qualify for the Champions League.
Wherever and whenever the match is played, the Gers simply have to ensure that they pick up all three points. They have already given Celtic a comfortable gap in the title race and any further slip-ups could see their Premiership hopes slide away.
Hopefully, a solution will be found quickly so that supporters can make arrangements sooner rather than later.
Rangers fans have been messed around enough already this season and it would be a shame if some can’t make the trip to McDiarmid Park because of the late notice.
