Rabbi Matondo injury update drops after Rangers developments this week
Rangers winger Rabbi Matondo has missed training for Wales after being forced off in the first half against Celtic on 1 September, according to the Daily Record.
The newspaper shared on 3 September that Matondo could face weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, and was nowhere to be seen in Wales training.
Matondo wasted an early chance at Celtic Park with the Old Firm still at 0-0 but pulled up with an injury shortly after the hosts opened the scoring and was withdrawn 38 minutes into the contest.
Rabbi Matondo injury update at Rangers
Post-mortems aplenty have ensued in the wake of the Gers’ 3-0 loss in the first Old Firm match of the new season, but Philippe Clement needs to spring a quick turnaround to avoid a rot setting in at Ibrox.
A summer of mass change saw the Belgian start four of his new signings at Parkhead, but that didn’t affect Celtic in the slightest as they overran Rangers and starved the likes of Matondo of the ball.

The 23-year-old entered the match having netted a brace against Ross County the week before, but his biggest contribution before going off injured was letting Alistair Johnston run free to assist the first goal.
Matondo was linked with an exit from Ibrox throughout the summer, and though a move to Blackburn Rovers never came to fruition, fans may have been happy to see the back of him after the 3-0 defeat.
However, with new signings to integrate and morale in desperate need of lifting, Matondo’s potential absence in the coming weeks gives Clement yet another setback to steer his side past.
