Todd Cantwell slammed as Rangers exit edges closer amid Coventry City update

Dan Bardell has slammed Todd Cantwell for disrespecting Rangers in his attempts to leave the club throughout the summer.

Alan Nixon on 30 August dismissed rumours that Coventry City are in for the Englishman, with a move to Blackburn Rovers looking most likely.

A six-figure fee has reportedly been agreed for the former Norwich man [Daily Record] who has made his desire to leave Ibrox clear.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has criticised the 26-year-old for the disrespect he has shown to Philippe Clement by forcing a move.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Bardell said: “He’s made it clear that he doesn’t want to be Rangers and has been disrespectful after Rangers took him on and helped rebuild his career.

Coventry would be a better move for him than Blackburn, but looks unlikely now but they’ve become a really stable Championship club.

It would be a great move for Cantwell but he has certainly disrespected the manager and the Rangers fans.

The Englishman and fellow teammate Ianis Hagi have made their feelings on moving away from Ibrox clear throughout the summer.

It is more bizarre to supporters that the Englishman wants a move back to England given how poor his most recent spell there was.

On loan at Bournemouth, Cantwell struggled and was shipped off by Norwich and the Gers gave him an opportunity to prove himself in Glasgow.
