Rangers transfer news as ‘ambitious’ Ianis Hagi bid arrives with talks confirmed

Rangers have received an “ambitious” bid from Steaua Bucharest for attacker Ianis Hagi, according to Football Scotland.

The news outlet reported on 30 August that while he snubbed a move earlier, they have come back in with an offer.

Gigi Becali, the FCSB owner has confirmed that talks are planned with the 25-year-old.

He told Romanian TV: I’m going to talk to Gica. If he wants, we’ll make an agreement. Look, I’m forcing Ianis to start in all eight European matches. And Gica should decide his change, let him decide when he leaves the field.”

Rangers must look to drive up Ianis Hagi’s price

Gers can drive up Hagi’s price by strategically managing his visibility, performance and market demand.

By ensuring Hagi plays in high-profile matches, especially in European competitions where his skills can be showcased against top teams, Rangers can increase his market value.

The Ibrox outfit could also leverage Hagi’s heritage and fanbase connection, emphasising his importance culturally and historically, which adds intangible value and that is one of the main reasons Bucharest want to sign him.

This strategy is crucial for the Glasgow club because it not only maximises potential transfer fees but also maintains the club’s reputation for developing and selling high-value players, which can be beneficial in future negotiations and attracting other talents.

By doing so, Gers ensure they get the best financial return, which is vital for reinvestment into the squad or club infrastructure.

Philippe Clement needs new signings and they can only properly be funded if decent sales are made.
