Rangers to announce Neraysho Kasanwirjo signing in 1st of multiple Deadline Day deals

Rangers are close to completing a deal to sign Feyenoord’s Neraysho Kasanwirjo ahead of the transfer deadline, according to 4 Lads Had A Dream.

The Gers outlet reported via X on 30 August that an announcement of the deal for the defender was also imminent.

The 4th Official also reported via Patreon on Deadline Day that Dutchman was set to sign, in what could be the first of “multiple” new arrivals before the window shuts at 11pm.

Nedim Bajrami from Sassuolo is also believed to be a priority signing for Philippe Clement in midfield [Daily Record, 29 August].

Neraysho Kasanwirjo followed by Nedim Bajrami for Rangers?

Kasanwirjo has played most frequently as a right back but can cover across the back four, which is the sort of versatility that is required at Ibrox when players are so often injured.

He nominally takes Ben Davies’ place in the squad after the centre-back’s loan move to Birmingham City.

1908 in the Netherlands reported early on 30 August that the 22-year-old is set to arrive on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.

There is not expected to be any movement out for James Tavernier despite extensive links to a Trabzonspor move this summer [The Rangers Review, 27 August].

But with Ridvan Yilmaz already out hurt again the new man could be called into action in various positions, just as last summer’s right-back signing in Dujon Sterling has been.

Now, if Bajrami can follow Kasanwirjo in on a loan of his own, which is thought to be close [Football Scotland, 30 August], it would also give Clement a replacement for Todd Cantwell’s imminent exit to Blackburn Rovers [BBC Sport, 30 August].

The English midfielder is the main exit that is expected to be confirmed, although the Gers are also braced against widespread interest in Rabbi Matondo [Football Scotland, 30 August].

In other Rangers news, a striker transfer update has emerged after exit talks were rejected at Ibrox.
