Nedim Bajrami pushes for exit as Rangers transfer twist revealed

Nedim Bajrami pushed Sassuolo’s hierarchy in order to allow him to leave and seal a deadline-day move to Rangers, according to Sassuolo News Net.

The Italian news outlet reported on 30 August that after rejecting a loan-to-buy bid for the 25-year-old, a new offer, which was a permanent one was made by Gers and accepted by the Serie B club.

The Ibrox outfit will now pay £3.3million to sign the Albania international ahead of the transfer deadline.

Sassuolo’s relegation perhaps made up Bajrami’s mind that he needed to leave for top-flight football.

The Italian club still held firm and didn’t let him leave unless and until the money arrived and now that’s exactly what’s happening.

Gers, to their credit, tried pushing this as far as they could without having to shell out a big transfer fee this summer.

However, at the end of the day, they gave in, but it’s still a decent fee for a player of his calibre.

Philippe Clement surely needed experience and quality through the door in the middle of the park after John Lundstram and Ryan Jack’s departure.

With Connor Barron and now Bajrami arriving, the club’s midfield is arguably in a better position than it was a few months ago.

Hopefully, there will be another couple of signings that are made before the window closes as time is running out.

In other Rangers news, an international winger is expected to complete his medical at Ibrox with Gers eyeing a last-gasp transfer swoop.
