Nedim Bajrami medical update at Rangers as last-minute transfer ‘virtually done’

Rangers’ last-minute move for Nedim Bajrami is done pending a last-minute medical, according to The Fourth Official.

The outlet reported on its Patreon page on Friday (30 August) that the Sassuolo striker still needs to complete his medical with Philippe Clement’s side, but his deadline-busting transfer is “virtually done” before the deadline.

Clement’s Gers are believed to be paying a reported £3.4 million for the attacking midfielder as the Light Blues look to bolster their attacking ranks ahead in the final stages of the summer transfer window.

Will Nedim Bajrami exit Sassuolo amid Rangers transfer rumours?

For the majority of the summer, Rangers supporters will have been refreshing their social media pages in the hope that Clement’s side will finally sign a new attacking midfielder, particularly with Todd Cantwell and Ianis Hagi out of the picture.

Things haven’t seemed particularly promising heading into the final days of the transfer window, with the loan signing of Neraysho Kasanwijo the only player to make the move to the blue side of Glasgow so far.

But Nils Koppen and Clement have finally got their man and while they appear to be paying a little bit more than they originally intended to, Bajrami could solve one of the biggest issues in their squad at this stage.

While the deal isn’t completely done and supporters won’t relax until they see the midfielder with a Rangers scarf draped around his neck, it seems as though it is a matter of when, not if he becomes a Light Blues player.

Hopefully, the finishing touches will be put on the deal in the coming hours well before the window slams shut. Once the transfer business is wrapped up for another few months, attention can turn to this Sunday’s (1 September) Old Firm derby.
