Nadim Bajrami contract update at Rangers as last-minute transfer readied at Ibrox
Nadim Bajrami will put pen to paper on a four-year contract with Rangers after his deadline-busting transfer, according to Chris Jack.
The Rangers Review journalist reported via X on Friday (30 August) that the attacking midfielder will pen a long-term deal at Ibrox after a £3.5million deal was agreed with Italian side Sassuolo.
Philippe Clement has been eager to bolster his ranks in the number 10 position throughout the summer transfer window and now appears to have got his man in Barjami in the final knockings of deadline day.
Are Rangers close to any new transfers on deadline day?
Rangers have left their big business of the summer late, but it looks like Clement and Nils Koppen have finally got their man ahead of the transfer deadline and the Old Firm clash with Celtic at Parkhead on Sunday (1 September).
The Light Blues have been crying out for a new number 10 for much of the summer, particularly now that Todd Cantwell has left Glasgow and Ianis Hagi remains out of the picture having been snubbed earlier in the summer.
One thing that the Gers have been lacking so far this term is a bit of quality in the number 10 role. Although Tom Lawrence impressed against Ross County, the Welshman hasn’t been consistent enough in a Rangers shirt.
Hopefully, Bajrami will arrive and hit the ground running under Clement. He has shown in the European Championships that he can make a difference at the top level and there is no reason that he can’t do that in Glasgow.
Some official confirmation should emerge from the club sooner rather than later so that supporters can finally rest easy on the blue half of Glasgow.
