Oscar Cortes injury update emerges for Rangers games v Celtic and Ross County
Rangers attacker Oscar Cortes is unlikely to be back in training in August, which will see him miss the Celtic and Ross County games, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that he’s out with a Grade 2 knee setback and is likely to return in early September.
Gers take on Ross County next on 24 August and rivals Celtic at Parkhead on 1 September.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“Based on the four week timeline, I reckon this is a Grade 2 knee injury.
“The key to guard against a cycle of re-injury will be a methodical rehab and return to play plan.
“The silver lining here is that the injury occurred to an unlucky fall rather than a non-contact which could signify underlying issues.
“He may not train again in August and return to light training in September.“
Rangers will want Oscar Cortes returning as soon as possible
Gers will direly miss Cortes because he brings a dynamic presence to the team with his pace, dribbling skills and ability to create scoring opportunities.
His absence leaves a gap in the squad’s attacking options, particularly on the wings where his flair and directness could unlock defenses.

Cortes’ injury not only deprives Rangers of his goal-scoring threat but also his capacity to stretch the play, making the team’s attack less versatile and potentially more predictable.
