Jose Cifuentes exit delay over, Rangers flop to jet out in next 48 hours
Rangers midfielder Jose Cifuentes will arrive in Greece in the next 48 hours to complete his move to Aris Thessaloniki, according to Yellow Radio.
Writing on their website [9 August], the Greek radio station reported that Cifuentes is set to complete his loan move to Aris Thessaloniki after a two-week delay.
The 25-year-old agreed to terminate his stay at Cruzeiro after an underwhelming loan spell in Brazil and has all but secured another temporary exit from the Ibrox.
Jose Cifuentes to leave Rangers for Aris Thessaloniki
The Ecuadorian international is on the move again after being forced to train alone during his spell at Cruzeiro and has left the Brazil Serie A after only 12 appearances.
Philippe Clement has sanctioned another exit for the midfielder to revive his fortunes, he featured for the Gers 20 times under Michael Beale before he was sent to Brazil for regular game time.
A return to the Ibrox was considered but Cifuentes joins the long list of players deemed surplus to requirements by the Belgian and is set to be moved on for the 2024/25 campaign.
His development must be of some importance for the Gers, securing the midfielder regular game time in an established European league could be exactly what Cifuentes needs to force himself into the plans for the 2025/26 season but the deal has most likely been approved to raise his value ahead of a permanent sale.

Clement doesn’t see a long-term future for Cifuentes at the club clearly, his past performances justify that decision and no one will be holding their breath for the Ecuadorian to showcase any worthwhile form that led to his arrival at the Ibrox in the first place.
Rangers would have hoped for a sale but given the circumstances was unrealistic, a loan move will have to suffice and the matter of his permanent exit from the Ibrox can be addressed at the end of the season.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are likely to accept £3m Todd Cantwell bid.
