Lyndon Dykes claim emerges as Rangers eye new striker transfer

Rangers do not have to worry too much about the injury history of QPR striker Lyndon Dykes, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert who analysed the 28-year-old Scotland international’s fitness record over the past few seasons believes Gers will need to be methodical with his game time initially.

This comes after HITC reported on 25 July that Gers have Dykes as one of their top two striker targets along with Lawrence Shankland.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

“Not much cause for concern based on the injury history and with the number of minutes last season, the key will be being methodical with his fitness and ramping up.

“He did have a few mid to long-term setbacks in the 2020/21 and 2021/22 campaigns, but it’s not something that would raise red flags.

“At 28, he’s also got age on his side.”

Lyndon Dykes could be a shrewd signing for Rangers

Dykes, a towering and powerful striker, could be a significant asset for Philippe Clement’s side this season.

Standing at 6’2″, his aerial prowess and physical presence make him a formidable force in the box, capable of holding up play and bringing teammates into the game.

The Scotland international’s willingness to chase down lost causes can also help to create scoring opportunities out of nothing and he could be a shrewd addition this month.

In other Rangers news, the club are locked in a transfer battle as they aim to bring an English striker to Ibrox on a free transfer.
