Rangers fee emerges as multi-million transfer agreed for Robin Propper

Rangers could be paying around £2.7million to sign FC Twente defender Robin Propper, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper reported on its website (31 July) that the defender is currently en route to Glasgow to complete his medical.

The move came about quite quickly with the Gers potentially meeting an exit clause in a recently signed contract [Scottish Sun, 31 July].

Robin Propper looks to be a stellar addition for Rangers

Connor Goldson exited Ibrox on Tuesday (30 July) and left a hole in the middle of Philippe Clement’s defence that needed to be filled.

Many expected finding his replacement to take some time but it now seems as if the Gers have found their man.

The Dutchman has spent the entirety of his career in his home nation, and his overall performances in the league outline the talent he possesses.

The 30-year-old is the current captain of Twente and has played over 200 games in the Eredivisie.

He helped carry the club to a surprising third-place finish last term and was key to a lot of their success.

Propper will be able to not only fulfil Goldson’s on-the-pitch talent but will also be able to communicate his thoughts effectively.

The Gers are in desperate need of experience throughout their ranks and Propper looks set to be one of the men they’re likely to call upon this season.
