Rangers at final hurdle for brand new Robin Propper transfer at Ibrox

Rangers are now just a medical away from completing the transfer of FC Twente defender Robin Propper, according to ESPN Netherlands.

The outlet reported via X (31 July) that the Gers’ search to add experience to their ranks was coming to an end with the addition of Propper.

This deal comes after the sale of Connor Goldson to Aris Limassol was confirmed on Tuesday (30 July).

Robin Propper to seal Rangers transfer

Rangers have been through plenty of changes throughout the transfer window already with many players both exiting and arriving.

A lot of the Gers’ additions have been with the future in mind as Connor Barron was brought in for the likes of John Lundtsram and Ryan Jack.

Goldson was one of the club’s longest-serving players and became something of a stalwart in the squad.

His experience helped coach Philippe Clement’s defensive line and ensured that it was as solid as it could be.

And, fortunately for Clement, Propper has bags of it to replace Goldson.

The defender has spent the entirety of his career in the Eredivisie and has spent the last three seasons with FC Twente.

Last term he played a total of 40 games across all competitions and even managed to score three goals.

He was deployed as centre-back for the entirety of the season but has also been known to play in defensive midfield if needed.
