James Tavernier has looked like he's every inch a guy who's on his way out of Rangers, according to David Edgar.

The Heart and Hand podcast host saw the Englishman's mannerisms this week and despite Philippe Clement not stating that he will leave, a parting of ways appears to be on the cards.

Trabzonspor appear keen on signing the 32-year-old and have even reached an agreement on personal terms with him. [Yağız Sabuncuoğlu]

Via X, after the game v Union Berlin, Edgar wrote: "No update but he’s looked every inch a guy on the way out this week."

Rangers and James Tavernier must part ways with this summer

Tavernier's age and the potential for his performance to decline in the coming years is a significant consideration.

At 32, he is approaching the latter stages of his career and Gers may want to invest in a younger player who can offer more longevity.

The club captain's recent performances have been inconsistent and he has not been at his best.

This could be a sign that his time at Ibrox is coming to an end and a change of scenery might be beneficial for him.

The Ibrox outfit are undergoing a period of transition under Philippe Clement and it's an opportunity for the club to rebuild and reshape the squad so parting ways with Tavernier could be part of this process.

The fact that Trabzonspor have agreed personal terms with Tavernier suggests that he is open to a move and if he is no longer fully committed to the club, it may be best for all parties if he moves on.
