Sam Lammers exit agreed, Rangers striker to undergo medical late on Friday

Rangers have reached an agreement with Eredivisie side Twente for the signature of Sam Lammers, according to Andrea Losapio.

The Tutto Mercato journalist reported on Friday (July 26) that the Gers striker is now set to undergo a medical later this Friday.

Lammers will sign a three-year deal that will keep him in the Netherlands until 2027.

Losapio wrote on X: “Latest on Sam Lammers deal. Reached this morning an agreement between RangersFC and FC Twente for an undisclosed fee (as of now). Medicals today in the late afternoon. Lammers will sign a three-year contract til 2027.”

Selling Sam Lammers is a good move for Rangers and the player

Rangers selling Lammers is a smart move for both the club and the striker. Signed for £3.5million, Lammers struggled in Glasgow, scoring just twice in 31 appearances.

Last season, he was loaned to FC Utrecht, where he found his form, netting 11 times in 20 matches. This impressive spell in the Netherlands revived his career and caught the eye of FC Twente.

For Rangers, moving Lammers on is essential. Philippe Clement needs to sell players to fund new signings, and Lammers’ departure could help.

With new faces like Jefte, Oscar Cortes, and Liam Kelly already in, Clement’s ability to further strengthen his squad hinges on player sales.

For Lammers, returning to the Eredivisie with Twente is ideal. He’s proven he can excel there, and a fresh start could reignite his career.

Both Rangers and Lammers benefit from this move, making it the right decision for everyone involved.
