Connor Goldson jets out to Germany for medical to complete Rangers exit
Rangers defender Connor Goldson has jetted out to Germany to complete a medical ahead of a move to Aris Limassol, according to Kerkida.
The Greek source reported [26 July] that if all goes well with the medical tests, the 31-year-old will join up with the Aris squad in Austria over the next few hours.
Goldson was spotted at Glasgow Airport with several suitcases on Friday 26 July [Daily Record], with the centre-back set to jet back to Aris to complete a move, but it seems Germany is his first destination [Sky Sports].
Connor Goldson closing in on Rangers exit as medical lined up
After six years and 309 appearances at Ibrox, it will certainly be odd seeing the Gers line up for the first game of the season without Goldson involved.
The centre-back still played an important role in Philippe Clement’s side last term until falling out of favour towards the end of the season, then suffering a season-ending injury.
Goldson has been a long-standing servant for the Scottish side and will be remembered for his leadership, emotion on the pitch and ability to push the team forward.
However, with Clement’s Ibrox rebuild underway, it is time for the defender and club to part ways as Rangers head into a new era under the Belgian.
The Gers have invested in multiple youth players already, with 21-year-old Hamza Igamane, 21-year-old Connor Barron, 20-year-old Oscar Cortes and 20-year-old Clinton Nsiala arriving early in the window.

The latter of those new additions could be one of the contenders to take Goldson’s place in the starting XI, though he will definitely need testing in the Scottish Premiership, having never made a senior appearance for AC Milan.
While age is just a number in football, Clement needs to ensure he strikes the correct balance of youth and experience as the Gers head into the 2024/25 campaign.
In other Rangers news, the Gers have reached an agreement for Jose Cifuentes, with a deal to be done within hours.
