Connor Goldson arrives to undergo medical with Rangers exit close – Sky Sports

Connor Goldson has arrived in Cyprus to finalise his move to Aris Limassol from Rangers, according to Sky Sports.

Writing on their X account (26 July), Sky Sports reported that the clubs are finalising the details of the move ahead of Goldson’s medical.

Talks began earlier this week but now the English defender has decided to end his six-year stint in Glasgow.

The 31-year-old won the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup and League Cup and featured in the side that played the 2022 Europa League final during his time at the Ibrox.

Goldson looks set to be another casualty of the Ibrox revamp this summer despite making 48 appearances for Phillipe Clement’s side last season.

He has made 308 appearances for the Gers since his move from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2018 but was dropped by Clement towards the end of last season before he sustained a season-ending injury.

It seems that no Rangers player is safe this summer as the Scottish side could line up for the start of the new season with a fresh squad.

Goldson has been a fantastic servant for Rangers over the years but shifting his £37,000-a-week wages will significantly boost the budget for new signings.

The mass exodus at Rangers is showing no sign of slowing down and Goldson will be the sixth player to exit the Ibrox this summer.

Clement has already brought in centre-back Clinton Nsiala from AC Milan but will be expected to move again in the transfer window to replace their star defender.

In other Rangers news, a £4.2million loan-to-buy deal has been agreed at Ibrox.
