Cyriel Dessers exit update dropped by Chris Jack as Rangers next new signings discussed

Chris Jack has downplayed Cyriel Dessers links to Cagliari while suggesting there is nothing by the way of imminent incoming transfers at Rangers.

Tutto Mercato Web has suggested (9 July) that the Italian outfit are interested in the Nigerian with him being valued at £4.2 million.

Jack has now reported for Rangers Review in Holland, via Four Lads Had A Dream that a deal isn’t progressing while discussing potential other transfers for the Light Blues.

He said: “It is understood that there is nothing imminent in terms of new recruits and Rangers do not expect to add to the squad in the coming days.

“Suggestions that Cagliari are closing in on Cyriel Dessers have also been downplayed.”

Cyriel Dessers Rangers departure downplayed

It appears that Dessers is facing the exit door at Rangers despite a fairly positive debut campaign in the Scottish Premiership.

Last season was far from a classic for the Gers which saw them lose out on the title and Scottish Cup to Old Firm rivals Celtic.

With that being said, the Nigerian striker managed to impose himself in Glasgow and take the mantle as the Gers’ main number nine.

Things could have been different if Danilo had managed to stay fit for the whole season after an injury curtailed his campaign.

This summer Philippe Clement has already invested in Hamza Igamane who will be coming in as an unknown quantity from Morocco.

Links to Lawrence Shankland have just refused to go away this summer so it feels likely that he could be making the switch to Ibrox.

Dessers had a positive season and it could prove to be a costly error to let him go so early into his time at Ibrox.

In other Rangers news, a loan-to-buy exit route has emerged for one Ibrox star this summer.
