Rangers to seal deal for Bayern Munich gem Yusuf Kabadayi as transfer spending continues

Chris Jack expects Rangers to wrap up a deal for Bayern Munich youngster Yusuf Kabadayi, despite talk of interest from elsewhere.

The Gers are reported to have already agreed a fee of at least £1million for the 20-year-old attacker [The Fourth Official, 9 June].

There had been suggestions that Kabadayi has since attracted interest from Turkey, but Jack is confident Rangers will win the race for the Germany age-grade international.

Speaking on The Rangers Review podcast [20 June], journalist Jack said: “I don’t wish to do a downer to my Turkish colleagues, but as far as we’re aware, he will be a Rangers player.

“We had that 10 days or so ago, that Rangers were quite far along the line, and I do expect him to be a Rangers player.

“The usual caveats apply, as we saw with the Jose Cordoba deal when everything looked like it would get done before a late change of heart.

“So until he’s there with a scarf above his head, it’s never done, but as far as we’re aware that one will end positively for Rangers.”

Rangers power on with summer transfer business

With a deal for Connor Barron as good as done, and Liam Kelly also set to join, Rangers could have five new signings in place in the coming days.

That is not to mention the permanent captures of Oscar Cortes and Mohamed Diomande, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Ibrox.

While none of the new signings are exactly mind-blowing, they each bring something different to the squad and will more than replace those who have moved on.

Supporters are crying out for a big sum to be spent on a centre-forward, such as Lawrence Shankland, and a deal along those lines may still come.

For that to happen, a player will likely have to move on to raise funds. For now, the Gers should be applauded for efficiently going about their business and getting a number of deals in place early on.
