Rangers to seal brand new transfer after new Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen talks
Rangers are set to complete a deal to sign Connor Barron after he held personal talks with Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen, according to Football Scotland.
Writing on their website (19 June), the news outlet reports that the Scotland Under-21 international has agreed terms on a contract [Chris Jack, 18 June] at Ibrox following the expiry of his deal at Aberdeen.
Barron had interest from clubs in Europe and England too but after holding talks with the manager and director of football he has chosen to stay in Scotland and a move is now “imminent”.
Rangers transfer talks for Philippe Clement
Clement said the team had come to the end of its cycle and needed changes, and now he is making good on his promise at Ibrox.
Jefte, Oscar Cortes and Clinton Nsiala have already completed deals to join the club permanently and now both Barron and Liam Kelly are close to joining too to make it five arrivals before June is over.
There are also expected to be exits [Chris Jack, 18 June], and more incomings are likely too after the Bears had a bid accepted for Morocco starlet Hamza Igamane [KoraMaroc, 16 June].

Fans have often been led down a blind alley about what the club is going to do and have been made false promises, but Clement and Koppen are bang on their job this summer and getting things done quickly.
There’s an exciting season ahead in the SPFL and Ibrox fans will be keen to see the team’s new look challenging Celtic, and now they have a Scottish talent to cheer on too.
