Rangers transfer development may see Liam Kelly announced as new signing at Ibrox

Liam Kelly is now expected to be the next player to be announced by Rangers as Philippe Clement’s overhaul is well on the way.

Gers announced that five players will leave the club once their deals run out and Jefte and Oscar Cortes have already been announced as the first two summer signings.

After the Cortes announcement on 3 June, the Scottish Sun reported that Kelly, the 28-year-old keeper is set to return for a second spell at the Glasgow club.

Kelly’s contract runs out at Motherwell and the club have already confirmed that he will be departing this summer with him writing a letter to them.

The fans are surely going to miss him as he was a leader not just on the pitch but off it as well and was lauded by the staff at the club.

After his impressive display against Gers on 2 March, Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell said, as quoted by Sky Sports Scotland: “He’s our captain for a reason. He’s an unbelievable leader.

“He runs the dressing room. We have a tremendous group of players and that helps him. It’s no surprise to see him perform like this. He’s done it time and again for us.”

Gers will be delighted to sign a player of his calibre and hopefully, he can push Jack Butland to the next level in competition for the number one role.

The Ibrox outfit undoubtedly will be delighted with Kelly’s arrival as he brings not only his goalkeeping skills but also his leadership qualities to the team.

His previous experience at the club, coupled with his impressive performances at Motherwell, makes him a valuable addition to the squad.

His experience and strong performances against top teams, such as the aforementioned match against Gers, demonstrate his capability to excel in high-pressure situations.

This signing reflects the club’s ambition to strengthen their squad and challenge for the Scottish Premiership title next season.
